Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 15, 2026

This policy explains what information Summify collects and how we use it. By using our website and summarization service, you agree to this policy.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to run your account and deliver summaries.

  • Account: your name, email, and phone when you sign up. Passwords are stored as secure hashes only.
  • Summaries: transcripts, summaries, titles, duration, and credit usage saved to your account history.
  • Uploads: see “Your uploaded files” below—we do not keep original media files after processing.
  • Billing: credit balance, purchases, and transaction references (card details are handled by Paddle, not stored by us).
  • Contact form: your name, email, and message are emailed to our support inbox—we do not save them in our database.
  • Logs: basic server logs (such as request time and path) for security and troubleshooting. We do not use marketing trackers like Google Analytics in the app.

Your uploaded files

Your uploaded files are processed securely and automatically deleted after processing.

We keep the transcript, summary, and related metadata in your account history so you can review and export results—we do not retain the original audio or video file once processing is complete.

OpenAI

When you run a summarization job, we send your content to OpenAI to transcribe audio or video and generate your summary. Processing is only for the job you request—we do not use your content to train public models. OpenAI’s own privacy policy applies to their handling of data.

Browser storage

To keep you signed in, we save your access token, basic profile (name and email), and credit balance in your browser’s local storage. We do not use advertising cookies in Summify. When you buy credits, Paddle may use cookies on their checkout pages.

Email

We use Brevo to send account emails (verification and password reset codes). Contact form messages are emailed to our support inbox. We do not sell your email for marketing.

Payments

Credit purchases are processed by Paddle, our payment provider. Paddle collects card details directly—we only receive confirmation and the information needed to add credits to your account. See Paddle’s privacy policy: https://www.paddle.com/legal/privacy

How long we keep data

We keep your account, transcripts, and summaries while your account is active so you can use history and exports. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for operations and security.

Deleting your account

You can request account deactivation from your profile while signed in. Deactivation happens immediately—you are signed out and cannot sign in until we restore your account.

  • To deactivate: open Profile → Delete account and confirm.
  • To restore access: contact us via the Contact us page with the email on your account.
  • Deactivation does not automatically erase all personal data. Some information may be kept for operational, legal, fraud prevention, or billing needs.
  • To request permanent deletion of your personal data, email support@summify.net or use our Contact us page.
  • We may keep limited payment records where the law requires it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us below to make a request, including permanent data deletion beyond account deactivation.
